Hayley Winder

Hi I am Hayley Winder your Stockport/Greater Manchester educator.

My journey into nails started 23 years ago when I had my first set of fibreglass nails done at a local salon. I loved how intricate and artistic the process was and I soon started to build up bits at home to have a go myself. I then completed work experience at a salon where I convinced the owner I could do nails and was lucky she let me show her which led to me going back over school holidays/ Christmas where I did real clients and gained experience.

I decided to apply to Stockport College and convinced the tutor to allow me onto the higher level BTEC course ( my ‘D,D’) in science wasn’t high enough but she could see my passion and on the promise I would put 100% into the theory I was accepted. These 2 years were amazing, the amount of areas in beauty and nails that we covered and the additional sciences, business and IT has really given me a solid foundation of knowledge to progress in the industry. I worked in a couple of salons whilst at college and this gave me a great insight to how they are run and dealing with clients from a variety of backgrounds.

At 18 I decided to go self-employed renting a room in a hairdressers. This was a great few years gaining lots of experience and lots of clients who I still see to this day. At 24 after 10 years in the industry I felt like I had gained enough experience and skills to pass on to others. I was also being asked by people to teach them but knew I needed to complete a course to be able to do this. I spent 2 years completing a Certificate in Education whilst teaching at Stockport College. I gained employment at the college after my course and loved passing on my passion and seeing people learn new skills and build confidence. I left the college to have my daughter but remained doing clients before opening my own salon which kept me busy for 3 years.

During this time Jemma a local tech had started creating her own mixes of acrylic colours and I soon heard about the beginnings of CJP. I was looking at getting a new system after using one for years and was excited by the new colours and passion that was being put into CJP. Vanilla shine was my first purchase and once I had cracked the ratio I was hooked. With the CJP acrylic system the application and filing is so easy which makes it a great system for both beginners and experienced techs. The gel polish system is so rich and pigmented that application is effortless and a joy to use not to mention long lasting. I love the thought and consideration that goes into making CJP products to ensure standards are high for both the tech and customer.

I am trained in and use all nail systems, Hard gel, Acrylics, fibreglass, Soft gels, Gel polish etc

One of my favourite classes to teach is beginner’s classes because it is so important to gain the right information and skills from day 1 to make you a great nail tech. These skills can then be expanded and added to with additional courses in advanced techniques or nail art etc.

As a student of mine you will gain experience, knowledge and practical skills but also ongoing support. I have the added bonus of teaching my group courses at CJP HQ so after your course you can go shopping!!! 1-1’s are taught at my cosy home salon in Cheadle where we can cover anything you are struggling with.

I love nail extensions and acrylic design work, structure and filing techniques are so important to create that flawless set.  My clientele is mainly natural nail gel polish so I am more known for that, short nails do not have to be boring the endless art possibilities in gel can be just as effective combined with neat application makes a sexy set of nails!  So, weather you want to learn how to sculpt a great set of acrylics or master the gel ombre I am here to help with it all.

Random fact – I was meant to go to music college as I played the flute/keyboard and sang a bit and only decided to complete nails & beauty as a backup!

I look forward to being part of your nail journey
